Spot a Fake Louis Vuitton in Under 60 Seconds

These steps focus entirely on the outside of the handbag, specifically the famous Louis Vuitton monogram pattern. On every real Louis Vuitton handbag, wallet, shoes, etc will never showcase an irregular or asymmetric logo monogram pattern. This simply means that the logo (monogram) pattern will always adhere to a symmetrical pattern as evidenced on both or opposite sides of the handbag.
This lets the person inspecting the handbag know, that the Louis Vuitton logo/monogram pattern's LV logo's and corresponding shapes will all flow along the bordering stitch lines on both sides of the handbag, top and bottom, left and right, with flawless symmetry.

Thus a shopper can spot rather quickly the irregularity, and move on. An example being, if a particular monogram shape or logo is four millimeters away from a stitch line on the left end of the purse, that means that that very same shape should be also present in the corresponding opposite place on the right side of the purse. And this shape should also be separated from the stitch line equally, by the same four millimeters.

What a shopper will not see on a legitimate L.V. handbag is a shape that is say two millimeters away from the left most stitch line but on the mirror like opposite handbag position, the stitch line running through (having parts of the shape sewn over) the shape. Rather quickly, and by following stitch lines vs. patterns, a shopper will notice this, and be alerted to the asymmetric monogram pattern, giving the shopper a clear and decisive indicator that the bag is indeed a fake Louis Vuitton.

So with this quick check, seam line pattern inspection, the consumer can assess a Louis Vuitton in under a minute. This will not eliminate all the fake Louis V. handbags, as some of the better fakes work on getting this correct, but this detail will allow a shopper to eliminate many of the fakes in the open market.
